                  BO AND ISADORE

**For 27 years, the Rev. Isadore Williams and Bo Hendrick were the radio voices
of the CHS Tigers and they always did a great job. Then, 10 years ago,
circumstances beyond their control separated them but each continued to serve
our athletic community in his own way.

Rev. Williams continued with the Tiger broadcasting team and this year the
Quarterback Club dedicated its football program to him for his extraordinary work
in the broadcasting booth and at CHS football banquets which he has emceed for
                  12 years.

In the meantime, Bo has been the fine play-by play announcer for the Fort White
Indians, along with talented Shayne Morgan.

Speaking of Bo, he has been the control tower operator at Timco and Aero for 44
years. You would think he would be their longest serving employee but Bobby
Clark has been there six months longer than Bo and both are still going strong.

                  THE DEATH OF ELLA

Ella Frances, 95, died in Gainesville August 2. She was the founding librarian at
LCCC, known in those first days as Lake City Junior College and Forest Ranger
School. When Ella was first hired, there was no college yet and she worked in
the basement of what is now our School Board Complex. From there she
ordered all the books and processed them for use. One day I was talking to her
there and founding president Dr. Herbert Philips walked in. He said, “From the
beginning we will have fine personnel and an outstanding library because those
are the heart of a junior college.” Ella Frances, often working under difficult
circumstances, did indeed deliver a top-notch library and her successors like
Noah Lindsay and Jim Morris have maintained that tradition.
